So a Greek Bishop has banned all foreign weddings in Rhodes following a couple photographing them performing a sex in their wedding cloths.

The island them a beautiful wedding and they repaid it with this image. Is it a lack of respect on their part for the locals or an overreaction ? What do you think?

Context is all.

Did they do this in public or somewhere they thought they wouldn't be seen? Did they deliberately publish the photo to shock or did someone else do it from spite?

It was an outdoor shot in a privateish place that they put on social media for their family and friends.

You have to be cognisant of local culture when you go abroad - if you’re going to get married in an Orthodox Greek monastery, don’t have a wedding photo taken of fellatio being performed. It seems pretty standard thinking.

I don’t think it’s rudeness, but it’s certainly highly thoughtless.

they did it in front of a monastery.. so i m not suprised at the repercussions. But Brits on holiday acting like asshole teenagers is hardly uncommon sadly

Ah, ok.

Stupid and thoughtless in my opinion.

And for their family!?

From what I've read they simulated a sex act *in front* of a particular chapel in Rhodes and it's weddings there, in particular, which have been cancelled - not weddings on the island as a whole.

Regardless of that, of course it's disrespectful. I'm not at all religious but accept that others are and only an utter moron wouldn't realise that behaving like that would cause offence. What's worse, is that they appear to have got married there themselves ... proving they didn't give a shit about the 'sanctity' of the location but were happy enough to use it - presumably - for their pretty pictures, before effectively sticking two fingers up at local tradition and sensibilities.

Yeah exactly my thoughts! I wouldn't want to see my family members in the act!

At my nephews wedding a couple of the guests thought it was hilarious to simulate sex in the church yard. Some people have a very warped sense of place and absolutely no respect.

Some great views. As someone who's travelled all over the world I've always tried to show other communities respect.

If people are to be more sexually open and our kind of fun to be enjoyed more widely it must be done with respect for others.

At least they didn't send postcard sized prints with the traditional "Wish you were here..." written on back
