Is that true do you look back at mistakes and think of them as only memories

WHata good post... I try to see everything as a memory, as something that is part of what makes me what I am today. Sometimes it is a pleasant memory, sometimes it is painful... either way it is all part of what shaped me and therefore valuable...

Life always has plenty of "ifs, whats, maybe's and what ifs?" and yes you can always reckon you should have done something better along the way.

But it is life in the raw, you have to learn to accept it. I often wonder, what if I took that job offer, I could have been.........?

Life is too short to worry about what you should have done' look forward to tomorrow!

I've made some huge mistakes. A lot of em still make me wanna hide my face in shame.memories? yeah,bad ones

I can't remember where I heard this but two lines of poetry have always stuck in my head - "our deeds travel with us from afar, and who we've been makes us who we are"

My biggest mistake - having an affair with a married man - led to me meeting my wonderful husband, best friend and soulmate, so how can I regret it? I feel the same way about other mistakes I've made and difficult situations I've been in. I regret none of it, because everything I've done, has culminated in me being where I am today, and I'm in a very happy place right now

I am the sum total of my experiences good or bad. I've enjoyed the good ones and I hope that I've learned from the bad ones, but I wouldn't change a single thing that has happened to me.

It is by George Eliot, which is the pseudonym of Mary Jane Evans, and this quote is not a poem, but a line from Eliot's novel "Middlemarch" and appears as the opening line to Chapter LXX (Chapter 70)
