Mine's currently at 10. Months of filters have had them slowly reduce to that as ancient messages drop off the page. I am intrigued how long it'll take to get any lower; I got all excited at the weekend when it dropped to 9 and then someone I apparently replied to with no further contact over a year ago remessaged so it went back up to double figures.

Yeah, most aren't worth opening never mind responding to, I've endured so much abuse over the years I find it is better to piss them off by leaving them unread as it frustrates them more as they just don't know, but maybe that is just my sense of humour

Not exactly sure but over 100, sometimes. I go onto my laptop to get to unread messages that have gone from the first page, so I can clear them. They are usually responses to my no thank you reply, or short sentences from a thread that I didn't have to open to read.

Mine annoys me when it’s around the 400 mark so I do a global delete and heave a sigh of relief.

It’s 128 right now though and I’m already twitching over the delete button.

97 but we always clear them at weekends when we're both at home and online together etc! We never read them in the week, it's says this on our profile but some folk still send...and a few still get sh*tty when they're not read!

You’re answering my question with an unrelated question. Why is not being able to answer all messages an ego boost? Your comment was alongside your own ability to reply to all of yours. I’m genuinely curious. (My inbox is currently clear, as an aside, I did a block delete, I haven’t answered most of them. No ego involved).

We hit the 300 mark A DAY ...read and Answer them ALL....even if the reply is just a "Thank you" ....We spend 4 odd hours a day doing emails on here ...

The more effort people put in the more we do ....the more basic the mail so is our reply.

As the person mentions above if you don't read them/start a conversation how do you know if you want to meet....

When I take off my filters to receive messages from my chosen age group, my unread messages go up quite quickly. I'm in a highly populated Fab area, and they soon rack up. If I find someone I'm really interested in, or the messages are overwhelming, I put my filters back up and try to reply to the unread ones. I'm currently on 16 unread messages because they aren't on the first page. So I can't get to them.

Well we have the luxury of working from home ....Plus Mary is a work a Holic (is still working now) and often works till 1-2 am ....so while she is one end of our office muggings here is the other lumbered with doing most of them.....It can et to you at times hearing the same ole same ole every day all the time.....

I only get that amount daily if I've uploaded a photo.

My age means I'm off some radars but my location attracts a lot of transient types.

I find the longer I'm 'active' for the more mail I receive. When I'm having an inbox tidy up I hide my profile, makes the process easier!
