Just saw a 8 week old baby with her ears pierced, it mad me sad as I think its cruel Am I alone?

My mother got my ears pierced before I can remember. I don't think it was cruel. It doesn't hurt much and a basic ear piercing is unnoticeable when you remove the jewelry and it closes.

I personally think it should be illegal to pierce young children. Any reputable piercing studio will not even contemplate piercing small children

Piercing is a customs and traditional thing in few community...but I never seen or heard 8 week old got pierced. I had mine when I was 2 year old..

It should be the decision of the person getting the pericings. I did have mine done when I was 7.... but I wanted them done lol

I had mine done at 12 and it hurt like hell! They didn't make the baby look cute in any way :/

I had my ears pierced when I was 10 years old. I was old enough make my own decision and to ask to get them done. I was also mature enough to understand how to take care of them and the consequences of not doing so.
