So that we could flag up a warning about our serial time waster/complete fantasist.

You have a serial time waster?

Why allow them to continue wasting your time after the first couple of letdowns? Or have I misread?

It would be abused though. I could quite easily say someone stood me up. No one but me and them would ever know if we'd even agreed to meet in the first place, I might just have taken a dislike to them.

How petty and dismissive of the negative effect on verified member who doesn't have the privilege of answering back....

You don't need to display received verifications and you don't need to display the frequency of how many times you meet....

I think the idea proposed in the opening thread is clumsy

What annoys me about verifications is if you leave and come back .I don't think people should be able to re verify as I met a few first time I was on for social and were nothing like there pics and still on .so when I returned they sent me verifications .Rather wish they hadn't.But funny as they don't show mine as I was honest

Compulsory veris would be funny to read.

The guy saying he was the best lover ever and the woman saying he was a two pump chump

"So that we could flag up a warning about our serial time waster/complete fantasist."

If they are a time waster and fantasist why are you allowing them to waste your time and energy any further, you can just block them and then they won’t waste your time anymore

Or maybe verifications should all be shown on a profile that way if someone wasn’t who they said or the meet went bad we could say that and it couldn’t be hidden. But again it would be used in a negative way for people to just get at people that they don’t like. Simplest way is if you think there fake or wasting your time block them and move on. Plenty of genuine people on here.

Or even a rating system, so even if they didn't show the veris you'd know if they were good to meet or worth avoiding x

But that is subjective, whats good for one isnt always gonna be good for another.

Not so sure about this. One person's 10 is another person's 3?? Consistency is important but we all have bad days?

I wonder just how often any compulsory system or anti verification system would just be abused...

All verifications prove is that two or more people met.

They don't guarantee or even infer because people met they would be compatible with anyone else...

It makes me laugh when I read people posting stuff like this

Think about it guys

If we were able to leave negative feedback?

There would be all out anarchy

Fab would spontaneously combust in a very short time

The point of a veri-type system is to give information to other people. Not to help you save your own energy.

Anyway, the original post was tongue in cheek. Too much to hope that usual forum know-it-alls might refrain from their judgemental, holier than thou shite responses. Sometimes the Fab forums can be a huge PITA.

Perhaps if you don't like the answers it's better not to ask the questions

Perhaps forumites might like to empathise with OPs rather than reflexively think of smart-alec answers and put-downs. Which is what Fab forums seem to be degenerating into.

How would this anti-verification system be policed?

Even with the current system we have a couple of verifications (they are not on show, before you ask) in which whilst very nice and gushing with their praise make us think that they must have got us mixed up with somebody else as we were never that good.

"So that we could flag up a warning about our serial time waster/complete fantasist."

You need to flag yourselves first then, as you are wasting your own time talking to a serial time waster, when all you have to do is block and move on.

Anyway what you gonna say about said time waster....."avoid this member as they are dreaming of meeting and fucking but they really just want a wank" ?

A feature to reject a veri would be nice, sometimes people get verified by absolute strangers.

Not happened me, but would be nice to say no.

You claim to have a serial timewaster?

It's not empathy you need

There is a very simple solution in your own hands.
