Can't be arsed with all these claim this claim that bullshit. Same as with other insurance scams, just gives another reason to drive up costs.

Sick as in food poisoning during a holiday abroad. It’s one of the newer no win no fee claim types.

Don’t know anyone that has tried or been successful, but no harm looking into it. There has to be money in it. Same with package bank accounts

If a lot of people in the hotel came down with food poisoning I’d say you have more chance of a successful claim but if it was only you, then no.

I went to India a few years ago and had the most dreadful shits after a few days. I can only imagine how busy the claims desk would be if everyone tried to get compensation.

And this is why some Spanish resorts will be refusing to take any British holiday makers for all inclusive holiday packages in future......yeah gotta love the Brits for knowing how to scam and push people out of business

Jesus I only asked if anyone had made a successful claim.

Didn't want a whole moral discussion based on the rights and wrongs of modern society.

You go on holiday trusting that the supplier's have taken every precaution to ensure that safety and hygiene standards are kept.

If they are happy to take our money they should also be prepared to suffer the consequences if they don't.

If I were to run a bed and breakfast or a hotel and the guests got sick due to eating food eaten in my establishment then I would expect to have to pay compensation to the effected parties.

As it happened I picked up an extremely rare and very aggressive form of salmonella while on holiday two years ago.

A five star resort .

I suffered for almost 6 months lost load's of money having time off work and nearly lost my job.

No win no fee? You really believe there's such a thing as a free lunch

Why not explain that from the outset then. Give people a better understanding so they can better advise.

Claim culture is rife and a bit of a cancer on companies resources of late so with your initial post, are you surprised at the backlash?

If it's that bad then go to an actual solicitor for advise rather than these ambulance chasers

From what I've read you need to have made a complaint at the time while you were away, you may find it too late now.

We always stay well clear of all inclusive, after being put off by tales from our friends, I think sources of illness probably come from other holiday makers touching food on buffets with unwashed hands rather than the hotel itself.
