Just been told out of nowhere that I look like a TV and would look better with a beard.

Now I'm a tough broad and don't usually care about such bollocks (I'm a performer and DJ and have heard a lot worse) but has really thrown me.

What innocuous nonsense can change your mood?

I found out, a few weeks ago, that someone had said they hated me for no good reason, which really upset me as I can't hate someone or hold a grudge against someone even if I try.

Sometimes other people can't or won't treat you like you treat them.

I think you've got a great look. Very self-assured and confidently sexual.

I can't think of something that really gets to me. I think the person saying something nasty has more power over me than what they're saying. Although I did a reverse search of my pictures on Google and apparently I (fairly consistently) have the body of a man, according to Google. That hurt a bit.

If they've gone out of their way to say it then I'd take a compliment personally. The way I'd see it is if they have to point out my imperfections I've probably got less than theirs. I'm fully aware of my own so if anyone tries to point it out they've done nothing other than show their ugly personality.

Yep... People can say and do things here that will really take the wind out of your sails. If its a mean comment from a random stranger its easier to brush off than if its a hurt caused by a friend, but at the end of the day its t'internet and won't really change your life anyway

Not being respected. A decision I made didn’t go down well with a friend on here. So now what was a good friendship seems strained.

It hurt me that someone couldn’t accept the decision I’d made although it was for the good of my health.

It's odd how even the most ridiculous and childish of insults can hurt. Years ago, in my early 20s, I was told I looked 'a bit mannish'. Up until then I was reasonably sure I didn't but after, some small part of my brain obviously worried that I *might* do and it therefore stung for a long time.

Maybe it's not the content as such which gets to you but the shock of someone being so mean? .... like, you can't stop your brain thinking there might be an element of truth in their nastiness, even though objectively you know it's pathetic nonsense.

A world of my own

Over the years there have been many insults thrown my way. Sadly one person took it upon himself to spend half a thread personally attacking me and my "3 bellies" to this day that phrase still pops into my head.

Don't feel bad about an emotional response. You're human and we feel. Hopefully somethings will make you remember how fabulous you are and he will go into the idiot box in your mind.
