So I've been single by choice for 9 years - I've had long term fwb. I think I'd like a bit more now. Met a nice guy but he has a few minor issues not massive ones like me. Had a few drinks and a fumble and he is kind and caring & a good laugh. Why am I yet again pushing him away. A constant battle in my head. Is anyone else like this? He gets me but I think it's easier not to bother as I can't do with feelings but yet want a bit of the relationship thing, Sunday morning cuddles not just sex. I'm not alone in this am I?

Life's complex and nothing like we think it should be in our head. You're not the only one. Too many people citing "issues".

Just accept who you are and learn to compromise a little in life. Get busy living or get busy dying.

I understand were you're coming from, I've been single for 5 years and when someone says they have feeling for me I cut them out of my life, even if I like them. For me, I think it's the fact I have children and don't want to rush into anything. Also having been alone for so long, I've learned to enjoy my own company and have my own "routine" and don't really want anything to ruin it.

There is also the contribution from my friends and their relationships, it puts me off, I look and think nope don't want that for myself. I don't want to be single forever, but I want to make sure it's the right man before I commit to anything.

Id love to find a soul mate ....but its so scary out there .... the thought of living with someone freeks me out ....

I think im just destined to be alone ...which is sad cause I feel I have so much love to give.... but have massive trust issues .....well at least my cats like me ...

I do have a life I'm very rich with family & friends. I go out I have a happy healthy son who has moved out now. I'm not miserable staying in all the time.

Sometimes you just get too comfortable being single and, especially if on a site like this, the desire to meet someone for romantic intimacy is sort of elbowed out because you know you could get sex without the aggro of anrelationship pretty easily.

That's how i feel anyway. I've been single since 2012 and it's only recently that the thought of having someone special in my life seems exciting again rather than seeming like a chore.

But increasingly the idea of being romanced, cared for and loved is more appealing than just getting an orgasm.

Life eh. Never straightforward.

I'm not having a dig...i ovee think too. But sometimes we spend too much time in our heads. Live in the moment and accept it's ok to have quirky thoughts. Talk about it...they may open up too and before you know it you have honest dialect and comfort.

You'll find someone when you least expect it, I did on here of all places!

I pushed him away for months citing I just wanted sex when deep down I wanted more.

Go with your feelings OP but just don't push him away because your scared xx

Thanks. He knows my issues and he really gets me & excepts it. I guess part of my issue with him is he isn't my usual type (please don't think I'm shallow) but he isn't conveniently attractive. He also has children at home which puts me off. Maybe I should just go with the flow & not analyse things !!

I,'ve been single for almost 5 years, I did want a permanent relationship with my ex long term FWB but he met someone else.

I was chatting to a bloke about being long term FWB s but every time I said I was going somewhere, he wanted to come along. Cinema, town, swimming. I got cold feet and ditched him.

I have my own routine now, I go where I want in my free time. And I have my daughter with special needs and also 3 sons. I don't think I,'ll get into a relationship again, I can't even commit to another FWB again atm and I also don't want to get hurt again. XXX
