The time to walk!

I love and adore my job and have some amazing managers that work for me. We've just been taken over by new company and they want to sack people and close shops etc.

I feel so responsible to my staff and feel i will be stabbing them in the back having to do all this.

I'm just asking advise on how to handle this before I walk myself and tell them to stick it.

I know they are doing it to save money but then they are spending it on other stupid things!

That's my Monday moan!

I think to do this you have to be able to dissociate yourself from people, if you can't it takes a personal toll.

It's rubbish but if there's no money, there's no jobs

There is money though and that's what I'm finding so wrong but I agree I'm making it personal because I care for my staff and I need to step back!

There's often money and it often seems to us mere mortals who are at the blunt end that it's being spent on the wrong things.

I've seen people losing their jobs while directors spend the entertainment budget on frivolity.

Flitwick and Fakenham

Are they wanting to close shops in your area or shed people in them or both?

Are the shops close enough that you can clear dead wood (there is always someone!) and move your good, trusted people around so you meet head counts but don't lose the people that makes your shops successful?

new company new employment methods - if youre in management position this kind of goes with the territory - nobody will blame you personally and if they know you well enough will know how you feel about it - but - no fucker looks after you like yourself

You wont get a medal for caring OP .... ive learnt we are all but a number... it doesn't matter how much care and compassion you have .... no one will give a hoot ... staff will come, staff will go, look after yourself .... do what makes you happy .... lifes too short to be unhappy at work .
