I already know what I am doing for Christmas: providing the weather is dry, cold and bright with little wind, I shall be camping 6 miles down the road from home.

Even got my menu planned for 25 Dec!

Great response!

Mind you, some of our local shops started advertising their Xmas Clubs 2-3 weeks ago; a local butcher is already taking orders for his Xmas Meat Packs, and a local card shop has its Xmas cards range out on the shelves already

As if that wasn't bad enough, Selfridges in London opened their Xmas Department and Grotto in early July!

The who ruddy world has gone feckin daft!!

I usually start thinking about the design of the Christmas card this time of the year, as card makers often offer early bird discounts.

If I were to buy pressies for friends and family, I would buy them as and when I see something I know they would like and appreciate throughout the year.

....just like the ones I used to know,

where the tree tops glisten,

and children listen,

to hear, sleigh bells in the snow....

sorry folks......I'm hoping for the white stuff

Long range forecast so far is for snow from around 15th December through to mid January all over the UK. Temperatures on a par with what we've seen the last few years, if not lower.

Pubs are already advertising business Christmas parties along with their usual Christmas Day meals, we had our team meeting on Sunday morning, Christmas was mentioned then; the costs, wish list for working and what will happen if they don't get covered

I'd best start my shopping now then.

And by shopping i mean ordering online, gives me enough time to re-order anything royal mail decides to lose in the next 4 months
