If I like the man, then I'm not bothered if at times he is smooth and at times he has stubble.

I'm in the unenviable position of having alopecia on my chin and simultaneously having skin that cannot cope with a wet shave. Its only ever a guard off with the shaver for me. It's always 5 o'clock round here.

Definitely smooth, but can just about put up with soft stubble for the right guy

I try to stick with a long-ish stubble. Not scratchy, but not a beard either. The wife says it's the optimum length both visually and for the sensations it provides

Got a couple of small but visible scars so I don't like being clean shaven.

If you’re going for an oil try Beardbrand they do exceptional oils. Stay away from synthetics too, anything with a product that ends in an “one” silicone etc.

Can get essential oils just for beards and stubble makes the hair soft to touch and no ladies will get beard rash.

I don't mind stubble on a lady garden but having a short, soft beard i tend to find it acts a bit like Velcro.

Not necessarily a bad thing.
