Changing your location

I'm experimenting with changing my location regularly to see how it affects my mail.

Top tip- changing the postcode on your profile can put you in a whole new geographical Fab search and change who sees your profile.

Do you ever change your location? Does it alter the amount and type of mail you get?

I changed my location to a London postcode when I was visiting. Never again, I felt like a newbie again. 100's of messages!!!

I hate Manchester. I don't need to be ignored from people in London as well.

I've changed mine to London because that's where I generally meet and there were a few people joining in my actual vicinity who I knew.

I occasionally change to other locations if I'm bored & yes it does open up a wide spectrum of fabbers that otherwise would never be seen!

We've done this when we're going to visit somewhere, usually a week or two in advance. And yes, we suddenly are like newbies again, with views, winks, and gasp, occasionally some actual messages!

What's curious is that we're still getting quite a lot of views from the last area even now, several weeks later. Perhaps 30-40% of our views this week, despite having meets up for our usual area. We're assuming that's because we left a club review - of the 2 veri's we left, we know one isn't being shown, so probably not because of this.

Hmm

I change it when I'm visiting areas and I find city areas are obviously more high traffic for users

I change it depending on where I'm working and if I am interested in meeting at the time. In the new year it'll be changed again (exciting I know!).

Good point about club reviews and verifications being a source of people viewing your profile. Also can be forum posts.

I'm spending a fair bit of time abroad so will generally change it to the location I'm going to be in if I feel like meeting. May be easier just to just post meets

Central

I travel a little whilst in the UK and like the variation of response. When back in the USA it's really different.

But it's worthwhile stating you're a visitor, so that people choose the level of investment of time and energy according to their choice.

I change mine whenever I travel away from home as it allows me to see who is near for meets etc.

I changed mine for the weekend. I had on my status i was only there for the weekend but still got mail about meeting during the week. It got a bit annoying so I've put my location as back home but left who's near on.

As work can take me all over the country and beyond, I periodically change postcodes to suit.

It makes no difference to the amount of mail I get, just changes the list of attention seekers in the local updates. Some areas seem to have more lamp post pissers than others... "You know who you are"

I visit Manchester fairly regularly, I change to the postcode of where I'm staying a couple of weeks beforehand.

I actually seem to get a better response from Northern folk.
