When I was out last night I asked for a cob and they didn't have a clue what I was on about. They said you mean a roll. No I mean a cob!

By definition isn't a cob crusty, a teacake has raisins (unless in parts of Yorkshire) , a barmcake flatter (but not as big as a stottie), a oven bottom softer (as slower baked) and a roll about the size to fit in one hand and doesn't need cutting in half to hold?

I think these threads illustrate quite clearly why the UK voted for brexit

I believe a cob is a particular type of bread roll, more domed and with a crusty dry surface.
