It's a factor in that everyone is looking for something that floats their boat and for some that means certain ages. It's one of many things that affect your experience though. Some like tall, some like slim, some like brunettes.

Its about finding people you click with really.

Does age matter when we socialise (outside the swinging world)?

I guess a few of years either side of one's normal age group is probably ok for most, whereas a generation or two perhaps is not. For me it is not so much about age but about what I have in common with people - I have more in common with my own age group plus or minus 10 years but other people feel different.

Apparently yes.

I am 51 in two weeks.

But already out of the parameters for meeting many in here, regardless of my sexual preference.

Yep I'm 51 and been swinging 20+ years married and divorced all diff scenes.

Sometimes people have a pref for age just like they do for sexual prefs.

It's like roulette, just have to land on right number at the right time.

Iceland, but Aldi is closer..

It seems various factors will define whether or not age is a factor and how you define your limits.

This was discussed at length on another sites blog..

It transpired through general consensus that a lower age limit would be no less than the age of your eldest child (as long as that is above the legal age of consent) and the upper age was based upon an exponential scale roughly as follows -

A 20 year old would go 2x their age

A 30 year old 1.5x their age

A 40 year old 1.25x their age

A 50 year old 1.2x their age.

.

It also seems that men tend to have their limits offset negatively (younger) and women positively (older).

Their are random exceptions but as a while this matched most people's preferences.

I have tried to vary my age range since being on here to experience older and younger. However, I am yet to find a guy older than me that I actually find physically attractive. I put the age limit up to 55 and the messages I received from guys up to that age looked 10 years older.

I guess I'm more attracted to younger or I just haven't been lucky with the older guys I've been in contact with.

You're right but the line has to be drawn somewhere and there are very few 55 year olds who genuinely look 35 close up. Age parameters are a clumsy tool but the only one we have. Lord help us if a 50 but looks 40 type guideline was put in place
