One of mine is Metallica's Black Album.

Getting rid of most of my CDs so more to follow as I'm only keeping a few. Forgot how good an album it is.

"One of mine is Metallica's Black Album.

I went out on Friday and bought new albums by The National, Queens of the Stone Age and the Foo Fighters as in off to see them tomorrow night. Love an album. I hate the digitilisation of music. Fortunetly my eleven year old buys his music on vinyl. There will be generations of kids soon who have only heard downloaded individual tracks on their phones. It's tragic.

Anyhoo if I had to choose just one it would be The Midnight Organ Fight by Frightened Rabbit. As a piece of work from a snap shot in time from an artist it's a stunner.

Just read that again and realised how geeky that came across.

There and to the left a bit

So many I could choose, all of which I still play regularly now and never grow tired of hearing, including All Mod Cons and Setting Sons by The Jam, The Specials first album, Biffy Clyro's last, Lexicon Of Love by ABC, I Just Can't Stop It by The Beat, Steve McQueen by Prefab Sprout, Parklife by Blur and What's The Story by Oasis, Kasabian's 48:13 and many more..

....but the one I keep coming back to is the extended 22 track version of The Liberty Of Norton Folgate by Madness - it's the album where they finally laid to rest criticism that they were just a bunch of wacky lads who made decent singles back in the 80s and had funny videos to go with them and shook off the Nutty Boy image once and for all - finally receiving the critical acclaim which was long overdue - the title track alone (running at 9 mins 42 seconds) is worth the price of the album but the other gems contained within it really make it the band's magnum opus for me

Dark Side of the Moon for me

American Idiot is one I come back to and always think 'this is a cracking album'

And Jeff Wayne's War of the Worlds is a fantastic album

You don't meet too many Mayer fans in the UK, but among guitar players he seems to divide opinion. He's either the best of our generation or an asshole/douchebag. Seems to depend on who you ask haha.

That albums fantastic though.
