There was a book first, then a radio show, then a tv show, then a movie. Not sure where the band fits in.

The radio version was by far the best. I was listening to a dramatisation of Asimov 's Foundation Trilogy on Radio 4 when this came on to follow it. I p@ssed myself laughing and was hooked from the first reading.

Child of it's time though.

The film was awful i thought. There was also a text adventure game back in the 80's.

Text adventure game? Lol. What is this magic you speak of? Probably designed by Slartibartfast and those pesky mice.

All text no graphics. Cant rember exactly how it started but you had to type things like wear dressing gown, check in pocket, take aspirin. Bloody long time since i played it.

You mean that you've never heard of Zaphod Beeblebrox and the Pan-Galactic Gargle Blaster...???

I fear that the end of the world is nigh... (well, if the Vogons don't demolish it first...)
