One example could be an impulsive action that disregards personal preservation in favour of the needs of others....

Yes and I guess if it is selfless then you are getting towards gallantry?

I've done this as I'm a passionate person about many things. I've been told that I need to be careful in England about doing this.

"Define bravery."

Bravery to me is about overcoming your fear. Being faced with a situation where you are terrified but refusing to allow that fear to hold you back.

Doing things that you consider to be out of the cliched comfort zone ... freely, openly and wholeheartedly despite being terrified of what may (or may not) happen x

Bravery: Doing something dangerous without fear.

Courage: Jeopardising one's safety and security to do the right thing though terrified.

For me.....this defines it....but also its confronting ones fears and not being controlled by fear. Someone's bravery can't always be seen by others doesn't mean that person isn't brave!

LONDON (se)

I think deciding to be a mother is a brave choice to make. Knowing how much pain it will cause you but doing it anyway. Your life changes so much and you learn yiu have a new type of fear.
