couple, us we him her.

Are you a brand snob?

If that's the right word.

For example I litterly can't eat any other beans other than Heinz.

Ditto ketchup.

Tunnocks caramel wafers.

Soreen malt loaf.

Other than that I'm pretty easy.

Putting the 'cum' in Eboracum

I buy generic or supermarket brands for everything apart from tomato soup and tonic water. The supermarket ones just don't taste the same.

Beans

Sauces (tomato sauce, brown sauce etc)

Milk

Paint

Tools

Watches

Leather

The above I'm definitely a brand snob, cheap beans or ketchup

We buy cravendale milk because it lasts weeks

Cheap paint & tools are useless

Watches and leather goods, you get what you pay for mostly.

As a tradesman I will agree I won't buy cheap tools.

I have to confess to being a complete brand snob

Not so much with clothes and accessories but I definitely wouldn't shop in Primark or Peacocks or new Look etc.. because the quality is awful!

It looks cheap and will look awful after you've washed it!

With food it depends what it is.

I don't like cheap animal products because I feel guilty enough about eating the animal as it is - let alone eating the tortured, pumped full of hormones etc.. animals that live in hell their whole short lives

So I usually buy organic free range meat, milk, cheese etc..

And I like organic veg.

But condiments are all shit anyway - so it makes no difference whether the are from Aldi or Waitrose!

I can still remember my nanna, who worked on a cottage cheese factory line for Northern Diaries, that half the time the cheese would go in a local "cheap" supermarket tub then the same cheese would go into Sainsbury's tubs and that was over 40 years ago when they were a still a very upmarket store....bet nothings changed, makes you think!

Every so often I threaten my daughter with clothes from primark when I find hers piled on the floor, then I go to Primark and can't bring myself to buy such crap, the quality really is appalling.

Ahh yes!

Exactly this!

If you're going to pay extra for something then you have to be clever about what it is!

Haha :D

It really is!

It's not even that cheap considering how crap it is!

I'm not surprised it's crap considering where and how it's made

I don't think people take any time to consider why things are so cheap

Bedworth

There are certainly things where we prefer a certain brand but in most cases, it's not the market leader. For example, we both dislike Heinz beans. We buy either branston or Aldi, depending on where we shop that week. We both really like Aldi lemonade but wouldn't touch Tesco own brand if they were giving it away! Brown sauce has to be hp and ketchup is normally daddies (again we dislike Heinz).

The only other thing that I'm picky about is my tonic for my G+T. I will only buy Aldi slimline tonic, it's better than Schweppes! I do enjoy fever tree but made the decision not to buy it when I found out I have to count syns for it on slimming world. I'd have no syns for anything else if I added that to my gin

The only other thing we won't skimp on is loo roll. You use twice as much of the cheap stuff and end up putting your fingers through it.

certain things you can't go cheap on as they're just not the same quality , I've bought some fillet steak from Aldi in the past and it was like I'd cooked the sole of my shoe , in general I guess I am a brand snob but you can't expect quality for a fraction of the price

We live without brands all the time, needs must. With a little culinary flair, I can turn even the most boring own branded stuff into something tasty at the end.

Northampton Somewhere

I used to be able to get away with buying Primark clothes for my kids but now they're older there's no chance. They seem to be ok with just getting a few items rather than bags full for the same money! I'm not bothered where I get my stuff from so long as I like it.

Food wise it has to be Heinz tomato sauce but we generally shop at Aldi....their beans are much nicer I think. I prefer branded cereals but seriously we get through about 30 boxes a week so I'll from and bear the cheaper alternatives!!

Happily buy the cheaper products, less added shite to it. Don't stick to any specific brand for anything, only thing I won't buy that's cheap is toilet roll.

Traffic land

I tend to shop mostly at Lidl, I shop most days (don't drive so buy little and often).

I'd never buy anything other than Yorkshire Tea (hard water), fairy liquid and Coca Cola (on the rare occasions I have it). Everything else is fair game.
