I have seen this on many a ladies profile and it has got me wondering...

Some women find different things / people hot, and what will drive some women wild may put others off.

Also, who is the judge of hotness?

I have always used the rule of thumb that if you are wondering if women think you are hot, you probably aren't.

So, my questions would be...

Ladies who seek hot guys only, do you actively hunt or just hope the hotties filter themselves your way?

Guys, do you filter yourself out assuming you aren't hot?

More of a Monday musing than anything else

I would never presume to call myself 'hot' nor have I ever thought I am and in fact if anyone ever told me I was I'd probably laugh and ask who they were referring to.

That said if someone had a requirement for 'hot' on their profile I wouldn't necessarily let myself be ruled out by it either..."hotness" is in the eye of the beholder after all

Ive been told im handsome. Ive had messages with face pics deleted and no reply. I assume those ones dont think im handsome lol. Ive never been told to my face im a munter. That might change now after people read this lmao.

Seriously though if someone says on their profile hot guys only I'm out of there. Of course everyone wants someone they meet to be attractive to them that's human nature. Putting it on a profile just seems pointless to me.

To be honest if anyone was conceited enough to put that they see themselves as "HOT" then they wont be on our radar.

Its like the so called "Celebrities" who are on reality TV, they obviously have special mirrors in their homes as if they are good looking then I will need to book another appointment at my opticians.

I've read profiles where the person has stipulated they won't meet smokers, or men under a certain height for example yet their verifications are from smokers and men who are under the height they say they want.

I take everything on here with a pinch of salt

Thankfully we all have our own tastes and someone's hotty could be someone else's notty.Compatabilty is the key to it as you both find each other hot and you get on then surely that's when you know it's right x

If someone I don't know describes themselves as 'hot' (or similar) e.g. in a message, it puts me right off. Even if I'd have thought they were hot in the first place had they not said anything - if that makes sense? The arrogance kills it for me. You're welcome to *think* of yourself in glowing terms of course but it's very presumptuous to assume everyone else will agree.

And I've never thought I'm hot, maybe just about lukewarm on a really good day but I probably wouldn't say so, it's not my call.

There are a lot of reassuring comments here. I work on the basis of compatibility, so I would naturally seek out those with a similar outlook to me. I assume that those who message me have a similar outlook on life or I amuse/puzzle them in some way.

Why I consider as a hot guy may be totally different to what some other woman may find hot.

If someone (male, female, couple or other) feels visual hotness is such a key part of attraction for them that they write it on their profile as a contact prerequisite then I don't contact them because 1) I have no clear indication of what their own personal definition of hot may be and 2) if their definition is the media/societal average of hot then I am not that.

I am hot though - just only to people that find my own peculiar brand of hotness hot. I am more than OK with that.
