I hate the night train, you can't even look out the window. I recommend buying rubbish you don't need off eBay.

Get forum users to line up and wave as you pass through. I've had journeys where users think you're in their town, as the train shuffled through - so can have a few chats. Then arrange your next ticket to allow breaks of journey, meeting the right ones. Even if for overpriced station gobbling
