"Champagne is nicer - especially if you buy a good one ...... prosecco is cheaper so you can get flying d*unk on good stuff cheaper! But remember when making Buck's Fizz or tequila sunrises or skrewdrivers a good quality fresh orange juice will make up for you using cheap shite. " How many individuals do you think could tell the difference between a very good Prosecco and a poor example of Champagne.....and get it right.... in a blind taste test? And for the smartasses... I'm not talking about giving it to the Labrador!

"Champagne is called champagne for NO other reason than it is from champagne in France. Many of our sparkling wines beat it in quality. Prosecco is an excellent example of a good sparkling wine that is as good as those from the champagne region. Pay for champagne if you want. I pay for what I like not the fooking air miles." Quite right... Reviving this thread because Lidl is doing a special (£4.99 each) this weekend on Australian Sparkler of the Chardonnay and Pinot Noir grapes - sounds familiar? I shall be stocking up....!!!

I only like vintage Champagne - Prosecco is more palatable than cheap Champagne IMO.
