I've had an interactive thyroid for 26 years. Fortunately it's controlled with thyroxine and weight etc hasn't been a problem.

When we're you diagnosed and is your medication correct?

When are you having you thyroid function tested again? Have you noticed any change in your weight since you started medication and are you still experiencing symptoms? You should feel much better if your medication is correct. It can sometimes take a while to get the correct dose.

Try to eat plenty of oily fish and anything with iodine in it, use iodised salt.

I had my last flood test a couple of days ago. I have had trouble trying to lose weight for a few years. The symptoms are still there but to a lesser degree. I'll try the fish and iodine.

Thanks for the help guys.

You're welcome. If you don't feel the symptoms have completely gone keep going back until you feel you're on the right track. If after six months to a year you feel things aren't settling down properly ask to be referred to a general physician at the hospital.

Good luck with it.

A mate of mine had it undiagnosed for years. Eventually got so bad he could hardly function. Then they put him on drugs but it took over a year to get the dosage right. You got yo make sure docs keep monitoring you.

I've been on thyroxine for over 4 years now. Im on a 100 miligrams a day and get tested once a year to see if its at the right dosage. They it's at the right level. I still rrally struggle with my weight and energy levels. I'm also a wagon driver which might not help.

google how to cure it naturally. ive suffered from low testosterone before, looked into curing it naturally after being on hormone replacement therapy for it. i came off and got my natural levels up with diet and avoiding certain toiletries ect. our modern world fucks up our bodies!

i hear defiencys in iodine and selenium could be a cause, which is easily supplemented. i'd look into it further though get some tests done.

Good post

Was going to suggest looking into iodine and selenium supplementation myself.

Also, actually being more active makes a difference. Yes, it can be hard due to the lethargy but it's a step well worth doing as it will help.
