"I have lots of notebooks, but one that was given to me a few years back never ceases to bring pleasure just by holding it. Its based on Self Portrait by Laurel Burch. Bit of a hippy type like me and for visuals can be found in an online search, if youre interested enough to look it up. What the online imgage doesn't show is just how lovely the book is to hold. Its well made and sturdy. The back cover wraps around to the front and is held firmly in place by a hidden magnet that, when you close it, makes a firm dull clunk that practically says 'finished!' when you close it. The hair, facial features and the bird head-dress are all embossed. The colours are irridescent and shiny and are beautiful to the touch. I rarely write in it because I don't want it too fill it up too quickly so it's a bit of a treat when I take it out. ![]() Phwarrrr,,, I loved that you shared that with us,, I totally get it... I too have treasure's that mean a lot to me,,,, many are just scribbled notes that were left in odd places, that I would find long after they'd been left... or silly things given too me as daft little gifts which were acquired randomly and without any real monetary value to them,,,, but I guess really they were just tokens given to me by someone to show they were thinking about me while we were apart…. But thank you for you tome and a wonderful start to a thread… ![]()

But thank you for you tome and a wonderful start to a thread… ![]() Thank you tres gentil xx I had a little treasure box when I was young and I see the same collecting traits in my little grand-daughter. There was a tiny silver ginger jar in the bedroom she sleeps in here. I took her back home one day after she slept over. My son rang up and said she's just thrown a silver lid off something from yours at me and ran out of the room. She had obviously taken a shine to it but lost her nerve and couldnt take the whole piece and her 'confession' that she had done wrong was obviously manifested in her throwing it at her dad to sort out. When they brought it back I said "oh silly me I must have knocked that into your bag with your clothes when I was packing your stuff to go". She readily agreed I was silly to have done that, bless her. I don't want to encourage her to be a kleptomaniac but she was only just turned 4 at the time! I of course gave her the jar. Im gonna get her a treasure box soon. To handle her stolen goods lol!

"Also love to look at my Frank Usher evening jacket. Never had appropriate place to wear it yet but it is a joy to behold, worked in sequins of many colours with a purple accent on purple silk. Love vintage clothing." I seek out vintage handbags - well evening bags as I love the beadwork. You seem to have some lovely things - the amber necklace sounds very tactile. xx

"My Bible - well actually my Mum's Bible but it is now mine since my mum passed on. Apart from the obvious sentimental value, my mum kept everything of importance in it, locks of my hair, bits of material from favourite dresses of mine, photographs of her looking glamorous, my engagement notice, my wedding notice, my childrens birth notices, their baby wristbands, all that kind of stuff. Its a beautiful bible though. Its brown leather with a cross crafted into it. My mum had even book marked her favourite passages, and some pages have come loose with constant reading. I am not as religious as my mum was, but when I hold it then I always think of her and how much she loved it. " Wow you just reminded me of those lovely religious stamps we used to get at Sunday school. They were lovely. ooo and ballerina cards that you got with sweets.
