"So I (mrs) am not British and my accent is quite strong. I know some people like it and some don't but let me know what is your personal preference " I quite like most European foreign accents, but when the general volume increases and voices are raised to overcome the noise most start to sound angry somehow. I find Italian accents sound somewhat staccato after a while. German can sound a trifle abrupt and edgy somehow. Nevertheless it doesn't stop me trying to adopt the accents along with the languages. In fact I have found that it frequently helps.

"I don't generally find foreign accents a turn on or off. As long as we can communicate effectively that's fine. Nita I'm Scottish and can't always manage to communicate effectively. There's one guy at work and its like we're on satellite delay when we speak. " Now a Scottish accent is a turn on... as long as it's not broad unintelligible Glaswegian Nita
