So I went food shopping today and forgot to get a couple of onions to put in the chilli which I'm now cooking. It's about a half hour round trip to walk to Sainsbury's, but there are plenty of restaurants/takeaways just over the road. I went to the nearest Indian restaurant and asked if they could provide me with said onion. One of the chefs came out with a bag full of chopped onions. Putting the 'cum' in Eboracum

I needed rum for some rum and raisin fudge, so I went to the pub and bought a couple of measures. I can't stand the stuff so there was no point in buying a bottle when I only needed a couple of tbsp.

... so I too went a few doors down to the nearest restaurant ...where they gladly popped my cork
