Private healthcare - Wisdom teeth

Had a rather unpleasant nights sleep last night. Followed by an uncomfortable morning.

So I gave in and called the dentist, two hours later one wisdom tooth removed and half a numb face.

Now on the mend, didn't realise just how big they are.

So pleased with the treatment i had. Not one for medical facilities but was made to feel very comfortable, was only in for 20 mins.

Anyone else had a good experience at the dentist? I know there is a stigma with going, but I shall visit much more regularly from now on.

Beyond the shadows.

I quite enjoy going to the dentists. I find it quite a relaxing experience and the dentists chair feels so comfortable.

I got headbutted at 18 and had several broken teeth as a result.

You can't tell though

Having my wisdom tooth removed was a great relief, it was the no eating or smoking after that was a killer! It was a top tooth an took about 10mins to get out, that includes the anaesthetic, but I would have had it done without it, just to get it out.

The chair is comfortable, but I wouldn't go as far as saying it was a relaxing experience.

I had all 4 of mine taken out under general anaesthetic when I was 19.

I spent a night in the DRI and woke up with a mouth full of bandages. I got used to many varieties of soup for a few days

I had an abscess near my left lower one. That was causing me quite a lot of pain, so ma dentist decided it would be best to have them all taken out

Dunno why the call them Wisdom Teeth though, I never got anything off the Tooth Fairy for them

I was supposed to have all 4 wisdom teeth out about 8 and a half years ago, however 2 days prior to my appointment I was sterilised and the thought of being knocked out and a mouthful of pain to go with my abdomen full of pain didnt appeal - they still try to push through every so often they give me hell

My dentist is so good that I almost doze off in the chair,he's used to me by now but his assistant's think it's funny/weird that I am so relaxed.

When I was young I really did have some butchers for a dentist as we moved around quite a bit, I'm still trying to get over my phobia and it is happening slowly but surely, but I still come out in a cold sweat whenever I am in the chair.

Oh and I have never had wisdom teeth, when I asked my current dentist why, she said I had already evolved as we as a species don't need them

The anticipation is typically worse than the horrors - had a wisdom tooth out last year and glad it's gone, after the pain. The assistants are the best part of the trip

Worthing

Had a wisdom tooth out. No problem at all and painless. Root canal work...scary but again, fine.
