It all comes down to your diet mate, cut back on snacks and stick to your main meals. Drink plenty of water and do some exercise

Just remember that all the exercise in the world can be trumped by a bad diet

Long term plans rather than shorter term. Combined diet and exercise changes have greater longer term success too.

Increasing your muscle mass should help to change your basal metabolic rate.

Add exercise in to whatever you do - park further from shops etc. Sit less walk more.

Cut down on carbs, that's what I did. No potatoes, no bread, no rice and less pasta. You can still eat fatty foods, but not too excess.

I lost 20 lbs in a month once simply by cutting out all refined carbs/sugars and eating more protein and veg/fruit. Kept it off, too.

Had loads of energy, didn't need as much sleep and felt great.

Now I'm wondering why I ever stopped.

For me regular exercise is the key, I lose so much weight just by getting out on the bike daily. I ate shed loads as well, still lost the weight.

Healthy diet, healthy cardio routine (based on fitness level or desired area of weight loss) and also sleep well, a good sleep can aid in the loss of stress/weight!

Easiest way without over thinking it.

Don't drink any calories.

Only eat lean meat / fish and veggies. (Spices etc are ok but beware of sauces and rubs)

I lost a good amount of weight when I cut out bread and had crispbakes instead. I also switched to a small bowl of porridge for breakfast instead of fry ups. It worked for.me

Cut out wheat and refined sugars from you diet. Eat more fruit and veg and drink plenty of water. Keep to the basics and you can't go wrong. Also if you can join a gym and hire a trainer .

Good luck OP

I do it because I vowed to eat what I want when I want after having my daughter, throughout the pregnancy and for two months afterwards I didn't get to eat anything properly ( I came out of pregnancy slimmer than I went into it) 11 months straight of starvation will make you refuse to limit what you eat

I lost almost 3 stone on Slimming World a couple of years ago, and it does encourage you to make lifestyle changes and maintain them, rather than being on a strict diet.

But the biggest thing is being ready to do it mentally, which is the hard part.

Whys that unhealthy? And why would eating when not hungry be less unhealthy?

To be fair, eating when hungry is probably the best way to go about it. Your body knows what it needs more often than not. The issue is going to be eating the right things, not fast food three times a day

The body may know best but in many instances the mind makes the decision that the body is hungry without consulting with it....

Plenty of protein does keep you feeling fuller for longer which gives the mind less of an excuse...

It's because you can just eat chocolate all day if u like and it still works, it doesn't encourage you to change you diet for the better

Totally agree.....lost half my body weight over 5 years. Went from 20 stone to my current weight 10.5

Tried lots of stupid quick diets but always put back on. Slow and steady....that way you keep going as not ruling out all foods. Treats when you crave but limited to keep on track. Plus slow weight loss means no baggy skin. Good luck xxx

Me too, fella. I've got to put a stop to it before it's too late. I might try fasting one day a week. And on that day go for a very long walk. Really shock the system. Also need to watch what I eat. No more beer except for special occasions.

Don't fast, you're body will hold on to excess fat as it doesn't know when it will get food again.

It really is as simple as making sure you use more calories than you consume.

The slower the weight loss the more you'll keep it off & as someone has already said, you won't get saggy skin!

I lost 2 stone over a few years by walking more. I'm up and down, weight-wise by half a stone,at the moment, because of pain and new medication making walking a long way difficult and being constantly tired. When I'm exhausted I want to eat crap and don't want to spend half an hour cutting up soup veg or salad.

Five stars to slimming world!

Its so easy to follow and to be honest when I do the plan I eat far more than normal. You do not have to go to a group you can organise on line plus there is an app to help. I lost stones and have kept it off which is the key to weight loss plus exercise helps.

Good luck

Have fun fainting when you try that.

.

I've been using the MyFitnessPal app to keep track of my calories, take a 30 minute walk at lunch and swim a mile twice a week. So far I've lost 3st over a year. It really is as simple as calories in vs calories out
