Anyone know where...

Ok so a weird one for you all... we have some commemorative £5 coins amongst others (Queens jubilee etc) and don't know where we should get them valued/sell?

Also have stamps of the same sort of era.... so what my question is, does anyone know the best place to sell/value such items?

Ace... I don't mind traveling to sell, just want a rough idea of if they are actually worth anything?

I cashed my £5 coins in at the post office. Nobody on EBay was interested in them.

Local auction house can usually give you a rough idea of what things are worth

Not googled... but by eBay links they are worth about 50/70% more than face value... so not a great deal

and ebay will take fees off that.

possibly.

they always take 30p for putting up any sale, then a percentage of that (depends what you sell it for).they also take fees off p&p. i stopped using it a while back, doesn't seem worth it unless you're a business seller or selling an item of decent value where you will make a good profit.

Well I wouldn't have thought that travelling would have made you any profit, unless you were on a road trip to meet someone. They aren't that old after all anyway and there are probably thousands stashed away somewhere up and down the country.

If they're in mint condition then your great great great grand kids might make some kind of profit I suppose

All in presentation packs sent by the royal mint... so in A1 condition, unopened and untouched coins
