My dad kept Oscars. While he was away, the little one died. Mum sent a message, "baby Oscar dead." The navy sent a chaplain round, thinking she'd lost a baby, with an officer to explain they couldn't send a message that might upset him while on patrol. How we laughed.

So the question is OP.... Do you get a replacement and say nothing??

And you'll confess on Radio 2, Simon Mayo's show in his " Confession section "

That was the idea... told my sister but not knowing she told the little ones....apparently they are devasted! Well that's just harsh!

We all have our confessions to make here....to be fair just called my sister with fish update....after informing the children (harsh ...) she admitted killing ten rabbits of her friends when looking after them...surely two fish isn't that bad???

It's kinda just floating.....

Hull

I once looked after my friend's hamster. She brought it round and I couldn't help notice it was a bit decrepit looking, bald patches and the biggest bollocks I've ever seen on such a small thing. Anyway, day two woke up and it was curled in a ball with its nose nestled in these bollocks I soon realised it was dead. Still don't know if it was old age or those things were some sort of tumour or it had fallen asleep like that and suffocated in its own gigantic gonads!

Yes! My friend traumatised them by having sex in front of them while we were on holiday then I didn't realise that the automatic air freshener in the living room was poisoning them!

Why ?.....fish can go 2 weeks without fresh food so why worry if proper filtration in place then there are no worries whatsoever ,besides you can buy slow release food tablets or an automatic fish feeder if bothers that much

Total fresh water is no good for them ,it wipes out all friendly bacteria that keeps the water stable ,to keep the other one alive your going to have to do part water changes each day as ammonia and nitrite build up has positioned the fish ...roughly a third of the water each day should see the little fella through

Lol scooped it out of the tank and put it in fresh water....possibly gave it's heart a start...surprised I didnt finish it off! Cleaned the fish tank (as one died last night thought it may be diseased) and put it in fresh water....but seems that wasn't a good move

...its still hanging on.....

Replace them with a breeding pair of hamsters, tell the kids a fairy transformed them.

The resulting herd should ensure one or two survive for a few years, and also be suitable revenge on your sister for dumping precious fish on you without training
