My sons 50cc scooter has died. I've replaced battery but no power. Could it be a fuse ? Any advice appreciated x

Do any of the electrics work? It's hard to tell without actually being there to have a look in person.

May of flooded. Is there a strong smell of petrol. Does the spark plug look wet if you take it out ?

If so try a fresh plug, or dry the original one out.

No power, my first place to check would be the fuses....if they are fine I would use a multimeter to check the loom between the battery and ignition switch.

Does it not have a kick start?

Have you removed the spark plug

Check see if there is fuel

If there is fuel present plug the lead on the spark plug and rest against the engine and kick start and check to see if there is a spark

Mr asks if you've tried checking the wheel nuts.

He once had a scooter that would only start if you held the nuts.

I go with previous suggestion of flux capacitor.

Not much to go on, but just in case...

If nothing happens when you press the starter button check...

Is the kill switch off?

Is the clutch / front brake or whatever safety device that cuts out the starter motor in the right place?

If it has gears is it neutral

Could be a number of things from battery through to rectifier or even a loose earth cable or he may just have killed it.

When my scooter won't start it's usually the nut behind the handlebars
