Quinsy....would it put you off..xx

I just cancelled a meet with a man not on Fab, as he messaged me last night and said he has Quinsy, so can't do oral. That didn't bother me but I looked up Quinsy, turns out its puss in tonsil area, it put me right off. Plus I was worried I might catch an infection as it says bacteria is passed through kissing. Would it put you off...it was a man I have chatted to for a while and I feel a bit bad backing out but I don't want to catch anything xxx

Dont meet. It can be very painful. Wait until he is better.

To be honest I'm surprised he didn't suggest postponing until it was all cleared up. I would have certainly done the same as you in this situation.

Fair enough.

It's early and I haven't got my thinking head on.

It is so painful. Trust me he won't be able to do anything! Once it has been treated it goes V quickly. It's not contagious.

You were definitely in the right to cancel if you felt uneasy about it. A little surprised he didn't mention until it was time to arrange a meet.

I have a colostomy and I take the approach of being open and honest about it from the get go. Then we don't have to go through those awkward moments :D

If you read properly, he's not on Fab but another site. So he won't be reading it x

I would meet a man with a colostomy no problem , but as you say it's best to be upfront. XXX

No i'd not meet if he were poorly. Re-arranging for when he's feeling tip top when you'll both enjoy it more is not unreasonable.

If I had something like that I would just ask to postpone and not put the lady on the spot.

Poor guy I've had it and it's nasty. Biggest needle I've ever seen. I thought it was a cold until I drank and it came out my nose. Proper blocked throat

Every right to take a rain check if someone's poorly. I've had to do that a few times in the past.

Maybe you could have a social if either of you don't want to let each other down??

Brighton - even Hove!

I wouldn't meet either. I'd wait till it was all gone and then wait a bit longer as well.

I'm sure we all get little niggles time to time, a rotten cold or whatever. Surely nobody wants to meet when poorly, I know I wouldn't.

I wouldn't meet anyone who had a 1970 medical examiner in the back of their throat.

It's similar to tonsillitis, but a hell of a lot worse. Usually you are admitted to hospital to treat it, don't know why anyone would want to meet while suffering with it. I had a bad case of tonsillitis that they suspected was quinsy and I seriously couldn't even move of the sofa. My temp was 40 and I have never felt so unwell. So yep I would postpone until he's well again

Stay well away. I had it as a teenager. Two weeks off school, mostly semi conscious in bed. Could not lift my head off the pillow, eat or drink very much. It was agony.

When i had quinsey there is no way in hell i could have met anyone! Definitely right to pull out!

I pulled out of one when i asked how he was the morning of he told me he had a hangover! I like my playmates to be at their best

i get this . It's not nice. Usually I have to go into hospital on a drip for a few days . Your throat closes up . Its not a pleasant experience at all. Not had it for 3 years now

That's chronic fatigue syndrome.
