... often takes over on the Jeremy Vine Show on Radio 2. I like this side of her. She comes across very well and debates fairly, in the short time I have heard her doing the prog.

I have heard some very scathing comments about her and have often thought what has the woman done to deserve such a slating.

If you know of her and her career history do you think she deserves the butt of the very personal jokes she seems to get subjected to that are filled with such hatred for the woman?

If you haven't heard of her shes currently filling in on radio 2 between 12 and 2pm. Give it a go if you can.

She was talking about the riots today and the way it was depicted in the foreign press. It was so graphic she phoned her father up who lives near Croyden I think she said, to see if he was ok. He said yeah fine Im off to play golf. I thought to myself her dad must be dreadfully hurt too if he listens to all her bad press. I think when people pour scorn on celebrity they tend to forget the humans at the other end of their sniping, don't you think?

she is everything she shouldnt be to be working in the media.A large lady and we know they prize the slimmer gal..she is no longer a spring chicken and we knows they like them younger...living with a black guy and she is a jew....

AND, she is successful.

How very dare she.

Good on her i says AND may she continue to get up their noses...

I agree on Jeremy Vine sheaves very balanced.

Think she damaged her rep a bit after big brother and then her show on the BBC being fixed.

But she defo deserves to leave that behind.

My claim to fame (lol) View, is I've never seen a single episode of Big Brother so didnt know what everyone was going on about. I think if someone is criticised for the job they do and thats a great example you gave about the fixing then, its fair play. Its the personal comments about her that seem so full of hate that puzzle me. But then again Im puzzled by anyone who thinks they know celebrities personally.

That "Victoria Beckham is on a five hands a day diet" headline has tickled me all week. Who's hands? And whats in them? She might be shovelling handfuls of lard back for all we know!

As for Big Brother she kinda had a breakdown on camera... Was uncomfortable and not nice to see. Bless her

Cant wait for Jeremy to come back, not to mention Simon Mayo with Liza Tarbuck siting in.

Radio2 is not the same without , Ken, Jeremy, followed by Steve Wright in the afternoon and then Simon.

Im not keen on Steve Wright and usually go over to planet rock then. But today I went to Radio 6 and heard a very interesting inter_iew with Alexei Sayle and Mark Radcliffe. I love Jeremy Vine but am disappointed when he hosts Eggheads cos I lust after Dermott Murnaghan..

I have always liked Vanessa and can't understand the bad rap either. Her only "misdemeanour" may have been the audience fixing allegation on her show, but people forget she had nothing to do with it and didn't even know it was happening. It was the programme makers who did it off their own bat. As for the breakdown on Big Brother I thought it was great. She was one of the first people to stand up against the whole fakery and manipulation of the show. Good on her I say!

(I'm still talking Feltz here, how did Tarbuck spring up?)

My reasoning for this is from past experience of hearing on radio, and seeing her on television.

She (to me) was always an over opinionated woman who talked over people, drowning debate with vitriol and self righteous indignation.

I understand she has come in for a lot of personal comment in media over the last few years, which Im sure she doesn't deserve, and I wouldnt wish hat on her.... but still....

I can't abide the woman.

Yeah I've witnessed that side of her too which was a bit offputting, but my original point was there are a lot of similar people who haven't had such an outpouring of pure hate as she still gets despite having grown as a person and moved on from that very image you describe.

It seems a little over the top and in a twisted way nobody has irked the public as much as her so in that case does it mean its enhanced her profile thus the knockers have done her more good than harm?

I can't think of any similar women nowadays in broadcasting who have made such an impression as she did when she first hit the screens.
