Being shallow is wholly appropriate here. We are in the most part looking for a physical connection and that means we want to be physically attracted to someone.

Obviously personality counts and bonds are formed from chatting and interacting but in most cases the first contact is from viewing pics. If we Dont like what we see we dont message.

Not all relationships will be the same nor satisfy all of our needs - but that's not a reason to lie judgmental. Set expectations appropriately. Ongoing casual friends will possibly give something deeper- but some of us want just action that's pleasure, without great bonds.

I can know you sexually, your tastes and help you to feel much better ad well as satisfied - but I'll be a breath of fresh air, as I'm not deeply infiltrated in your life - and vice versa. We can talk about anything but don't need to stray too much. It's potentially shallow, if you want marriage instead. It's simple and straightforward.

I never know quite what people mean when they use the term "shallow" on a swinger/sex site. I mean, does it refer to anyone who doesn't think personality completely trumps physical appearance? Or is it meant in some other way? It would seem to me that the concept of no strings sex would lend itself to people who are more interested in physical attributes than personality (generally speaking, of course. I'm not stating a universal claim, obviously).

In contexts outside of swinging, I never really saw being shallow as specifically relating to appearance, though. I just saw it as anyone who lacked depth, so someone who was one-dimensional about any specific inconsequential attribute, not necessarily a physical one, I would class as shallow. But I get the impression that it's used in the swinging world only to apply to people who care about appearance. I dunno.

I don't see it as a problem. Choosing playmates for fantasy is the ultimate in shallow and I embrace my shallowness in this respect.
