National anthem for your county

So apparently some local councillor wants land of hope and glory to be Worcestershire's national anthem (I know, I don't get how that works either!). It because the music was written by Elgar, that bit I do get but I don't know why we need one,whrn it will be sung, or of any other county has one.

So... Does your county have one, if so what is it?

If it doesn't, what do you think it should be and why?

OK, being pedantic, you can't have a national anthem for a county

But I know what you're getting at, and I think it's a great idea if promoted properly

However, I think it'd be few and far between.

The closest I could come up with would be something by The Alarm, and Mike Peters is from the next county over

I think it's a barmy idea and have already pointed out to the local news paper on Facebook that county's cannot have national anthems lol

Agree, we can't have national anthems for our county's.

However, You'll Never Walk Alone is associated with Liverpool. This would be our closest anthem.

Oh and.... And apparently Elgar didn't write the lyrics, just the music and wasn't a fan when the lyrics were put to it so basically we are planning to commemorate him with a song he didn't like.... Brilliant!
