Suicidal idiot cyclist

Here occasionally, but mostly somewhere else

Driving home last night, about 10pm, was about to turn right into my road when I noticed a flash of orange at about shin height twenty yards in front of me.

So I waited for the darkly-clad, unlit cyclist to pass by, suggesting as he passed that some lights would be a good investment.

And was told to "fuck off".

Had I made the turn, he would have at least had to emergency stop, and may well have ridden into the side of my car.

The really frustrating thing is that I can't say that I'll run over the next cyclist that does something stupid, because obviously I won't.

Grrrrrrr.

Thanks for reading, enjoy your day

You wouldn't be prosecuted for running into a darkly-clad, unlit idiot cyclist that crossed in front of you, you know.

As a cyclist myself I know that some drivers don't even see me in broad daylight hile I'm wearing the flashiest gear possible. Or that they do see me, but can't comprehend that a cylist can be travelling at 20 mph or more, and not walking pace.

You did well to spot that idiot and I would have the greatest sympathy with you had you hit him. It's these idiots that give us a bad name, and maybe an accident is what they need to bring them to their senses.

"It's just human nature to ride without lights."

That begs the question "What is human nature"?

Thinks that could be a good idea for a new thread
