you succumb and awaken your central heating from its slumber?

with the nights drawing in fast and the weather as it is don't think it'l be long for us

Ours has been on for a couple of weeks now, but only on a as and when needed basis. Basically we hit the 'overide' button.

I can think of lots of better ways to keep warm...

So changing to the autumn weight duvet is first followed by a nice hot bath/shower (gotta keep it clean lol)

i leave mine on all year so i dont have to wrestle with the temperamental digital multizone mutifunction electronic alien that the underfloor heating guy replaced my nice little analogue clock style gizmo with when i had my extension done.....

I was determined to leave mine off till the last minute last year.....

When I finally put it on .. I couldn't warm the house up.....

In the words of my very scouse central heating engineer neighbour .....

'Fuckin 'ell gerl it's fuckin' Baltic in 'ere. I've just been upstairs and you've gorra penguin stuck ta da fuckin' radiator'

He taught me to put the heating on low and LEAVE it on regardless.... It worked in the end.

I'd let the bricks n mortar freeze and no amount of heating would pick it up quickly.

My heating is going on low soon and staying on.

Tho I hate it hot.....

i turned my central heating on once the first week i moved in ,9 years later i havent switched it on again! i put an extra jumper on if im cold and occaisionally put on a halogen heater if it gets so i can see my breath!

both my partner and i grew up in big old draughty houses, now we live in a terrace and are warm enough from our neighbours( and its lots cheaper lol!) x

I like Wiltshire. My ancestors originate from Urchfont (not far from Wootton Bassett) and some of them lived in W/Bass. I stopped there on my travels last year to do some research and it really is England's Little Gem of a county.

its been on once this week.. but only cos FSM was unwell and couldnt seem to get warm , even with a jumper and a blanket..

but i am swealtering here.... and the fire works are going off on the hoe. so off to see if i can see any from the garden,

I never feel the cold so very rare plus point of living in a ground floor flat get heat from all sides nice and toasty.

Heating on? In August? You lot must have cash to burn! Literally!!!

Ours won't go on until October, we can't afford to pay more than the £100 a month we're paying currently for our gas & elecric. I'd love to leave it longer but I feel the cold. Having said that, we've moved to a mid terrace this year and next door have kids so here's hoping they DO put the heating on before then lol.

This thread reminds me I still need to make the fleece curtain for the front door and conservatory door and get the foil for behind the radiators that are on outside walls before it gets cold.

Turn it on? I haven't turned it off!

I don't think it's kicked in much though. I have the temp set for each room and also for different times of day.... if it comes on it comes on, if it don't it don't.
