Us drummers always joke the opposite is true. At the end of the gig the vocalists just pocket their mic, any guitarists sax players etc just pop their stuff in a case and they're all off chatting to the excited groupies.

By the time the drummer has packed away the cymbals, the toms, the snare and kick, dismantled the hi hat, and packed all the other stands and accessories into the van everyone else has gone home
