To people of my age he's a part of our youth. Saturday nights and the Generation Game were a fixture.

I don't normally get affected by the death of some celebrity but The Generation Game (give us a twirl Anthea, loved some of her dresses ) was a staple watch in our household and my childhood.

HIGNFY also showed his class and yes I do enjoy Strictly (maybe it's, yet again, about the dresses) with him so....

RIP Bruce x

Admittedly I was never a massive fan of his. But if you combined the alleged "talent" of hundreds of reality tv stars who are "famous for being famous", they still wouldn't come close to what he had. He really could do it all.

Back in the day, it almost felt that Saturday night wasn't right if Brucie wasn't on the box... and they will never be the same again

Hull

In my 35+ years in hotels, I have met many show biz and other personalities.

Two stood out, both doing after dinner speeches at Corporate Awards Dinners; one was Bob Monkhouse, the other Bruce Forsyth.

Both were commensurate Professionals, sat down with organisers beforehand, learnt facts and figures, plus anecdotes about the Night's Winners, and when the time arrived, gave a total polished performance including everything they'd learnt earlier on.

Brucie took it further with dancing and singing, straight off the cuff and walked off to a standing ovation such it took 10 minutes for the room to quieten down.

No one since has ever beaten that! Genius in his craft and will never be beaten!

As he would say, "Good game, good game!"

RIP.
