In that precise moment

Yesterday, at dusk.

Found me barrelling along westward on the A303 after dropping my daughter and her young family back off in Sussex.

The heavy black clouds formed their own landscape across the heavens. Headlights like starlight in the advancing gloom. Tall roadside trees, sentries against the leaden sky.

And then Cocteau Twins' 'Feet Like Fins' plays on the radio. I was blown away. At that exact time, in that precise moment everything else fell away. Nothing else mattered. Life's extraneous nonsense gone. Like the most amazing acid trip you could imagine. The simple act of being, of breathing, of a heart's beat, there and then. Truly awesome.

Oh I'm with you there!

Driving towards the Pennines from Leeds, sun just setting over the hills. Sky a beautiful shade of yellow and orange.

Right at that moment Paradise by Coldplay starts playing, the volume pretty loud in the car. As the bass and drums kick in on the intro total shivers down my spine.

That moment will stay with me for a long time
