"I go through phases just like this with Fab. The forums can be hard work because you end up seeing the same topics recycled over and over. I only really like to say something if I feel it's not been said before, and that's hard to do here. It's why I rarely post new topics, but when I do they are innovative and groudbreaking But in all seriousness, yes I go through Fab slumps, where I simply can't be bothered with the place and feel my life would be better off without it. I even went UNLOS for a couple of months recently and it did feel like a weight was lifted in that I no longer felt that compulsion to log in so often just to read some drivel on the forum and get rejected by some more ladies. Now that I'm back, I'm sticking with the attitude of keeping Fab stuff in the background, and not getting obsessed with it. Seems to be a good balance so far, although who knows when I'll next meet anyone?? " I'm tempted. I'm reluctant to put that I feel like going UNLOS. It can come across as attention seeking when it's not. If it's a normal part of being on fab then I accept that. If it's not then maybe I need to question the validity of my membership. Bit of a dilemma eh?

"Are you fed up of the forums or Fab in general?" There are a few people I'd be really sad to lose as daily friends I talk to but I think it's the repetition maybe? Or the fact i might actually need a break.

"The forums keep me here but there don't seem to be as many advice threads lately, not profile advice but just general problems. I like answering problems. " I do like relating to things other people want to talk about and yes, there's fewer threads like that right now. just realised I'm partly redressing the balance there by posting this one

"If i feel like ive had enough i just tend to hide my profile but it only ever seems to be a week or so after before i am recharged. I generally let the hater hate because all i wanna do is shake shake shake " Could be the best place to start eh? See how I feel after that. At least that way I'm not going through the arse ache of creating a new profile

"Our profile has been hidden for a few weeks because I just can't be arsed with it at the moment. I've hardly been on the forums either cos every time I come on there isn't really anything I want to comment on. We deleted our last profile as we felt the same way. Have had really good meets tho so I'll keep it stagnant for now till the fancy takes us x" This I can relate to. So I've hidden myself and after today - don't want to just sod off for a week and not reply to people - I'll see how I feel.

Bit of a dilemma eh? " It is a dilemma, I do understand. Like others have said, maybe a good starting point is to hide your profile and take a break, to see if you miss it or not. I agree that announcing you're leaving is always seen as attention seeking. I didn't announce it when I went UNLOS, I just disappeared, intending to never return. There were a few ladies I regret not mentioning it to first though, in hindsight it was very rude and selfish of me to just disappear without a trace. So make sure you let Fab friends know, and get hold of other contact details first, if you do decide to disappear.

"The only person who can decide is you and that depends entirely why your here and what you want. I could sit here and predict day by day the forum threads with a degree of accuracy so can many others. And that predictability can become a bit jaded after a while. I for one would miss you if you go because you are among the few who post anything different from the usual stuff...its often thought provoking full of insight and has an impact across the whole forum and is often fun too. Almost everyone who leaves comes back for various reasons including both the sex and the social interaction. So walking away may just leave you feeling a disconnect that brings you back anyway. But at times just taking a step back even for a few days can be enough to restore the things that brought you here to start with. It's your life and only you can decide how to live it and what it is that fulfils you... but that need to be here doesn't usually just go away because we may feel down jaded or what's the point from time to time. I can't pm you but am always happy to talk and if you feel the need to question your decisions it is always good to talk to someone. They can often be more objective than we ever are about ourselves. For what it's worth I think fab often needs more people like you and we often fail to notice the impact people have here until they are gone. And those who do go come back because they feel a need to be a part of something that is important in their lives. I hope you find whatever it is you seek and while the ultimate decision is yours to make but those decisions we make in haste are often the ones we regret. Good luck OP with whatever you decide " I could say the same about your posts tbh. Always insightful and thought provoking. This will never be done in haste again. Did that once and regretted it almost immediately. Thanks for, as ever, your wonderful words of wisdom

We only get one chance at life. And regrets only remain regrets if we don't dare to take a step out of our comfort zone and try to change things. We only ever regret the things we didn't dare to do. My life is already full of too many regrets. Don't do what I do the man cave is just a place for me to hide. Be better than me ...take a chance..aftef all what is the worst thst can happen..

I think I'm in a slump with Fab right now, I've even lifted my filters today just to see what happens. Not much apparently Does everyone else go through phases of it being great then not so much? Would you go UNLOS if that's how you felt at the time? Love to hear how many have felt the same. Whether they stayed on and things just got better or if they went away for a while and Fab seemed great when they returned. " Yes lovely. Fab is filled with high and the mundane for me. I hace gone unlos quite a few times. I just get bored or preoccupied with real life stuff and decide to take a few months out. I come back fresh then. I can't hide my profile. The temptation is too much. Deleting my profile works best for me

Some frequently hide their profile, come and go (stop that sniggering!) when the feeling creeps up on them. Others go unlos and return anew much later. Not many seem to stay away for good though.

"Yes, I feel like that quite often - when I do I stop posting as often and eventually just hide my profile. The forums are repetitive by nature - different people come to take the role of those who don't post any more but the same topics and responses are often posted - the deliberately antagonising, the wildly irrelevant, the bolshy bitch, the always righters, the drama seekers and the wise but no-one reads the waffle to name a few. It's like the seven basic plots with your typical goodies and baddies. I don't UNLOS 'cause if needs be I just stop using it. I have to type I do find the faux eulogies of the 'great forumites who will never return ' (always return sooner or later) rather amusing. " And so it was foretold that the forum fabbers of the halcyon days of yore would return for the end times, and lead the fab folk in their time of great need...

But because its a woman..... count yourself you could be a bloke on here" Utter bollocks. If a thread was done in a similar fashion ie inviting others to share how they feel about fab, it might not get as many responses (depending on what man did it) but it wouldn't be a case of just leave. The just leave responses are to the ones bitching about the site and their lack of meets being down to external factors. Not right in my opinion but that's what happens.

So she has less people with a vendetta or a grudge looking for a chance to get revenge . You have to look past the obvious on here to see the real patterns as sometimes things are not as simple as guys getting shown less sympathy. There are other factors at play a lot of the time on forums like this in my opinion .

Are you here to read endless topics about personal issues and habits or enjoy yourself? Creating a new profile and re-reading forums wont create new fun forum posts and if you have your filters up if wont mean anybody you haven't seen before will be able to contact you. The thing is with the forums is you can post all day long and get absolutely no meets. If you look through your local profiles and message a few people that interest you for the same amount of time, you'll have a whole different perspective of what fun can be had.

The need to meet is often probably usually for many both emotional and physical the two go together in everything we do. Use fab the way you are comfortable...that way it works for you. I don't meet often either ...the man cave is a great way of insulating me from the world and wouldn't meet unless that connection I feel to someone transcends my sometime lack of belief in myself. But just occasionally someone comes along who gets inside my head rocks my world and makes me think of what might be what could be and sometimes despite all that what I may feel may not be reciprocated. But then I use fab in the way that works for me...i travel in hope rather than expectation and occasionally someone does come along and rock my world... When it happens it leaves me breathless. No one can tell you how you should live on fab or how often you must meet. They are your decisions alone... But as a fellow outcast... if you ever want to talk you know where to find me... And I listen far better than I can ever speak. Sometimed it takes just one step a txt a phone call a hello to make things feel better... And those who change our world change our perceptions our view of ourselves and make us smile are all we need to improve the way we feel..

"I don't really get the dilemma. If it's fun, stay, interact, meet. Do whatever keeps you happy. If you're not gaining any satisfaction or pleasure from it, or if you're constantly questioning whether it's working for you then I don't see the point in continuing in the same way. If you don't change something then everything stays the same. " The dilemma was as I asked. Does everyone go through this? Is this a normal part of being on fab. It's all there if you read the original post. I know I can leave or stay. I'm well aware of that. My point was to ask if this is just a normal part of being on this site, asking what others do in a similar situation.

Fab it's like the real world...there are times when it's amazing and times when you just want to walk away and hide. If it's time to hide then deleting your profile for what may only be a temporary downer on fab is not the solution. Go walk the hills sit on a beach play with the dog write read listen to music do something that makes you feel joyful. Then when you feel the need to connect here again just unhide your profile. For me the beach works...not just about fab.. it allows me to think to sometimes just empty my mind or see things in a different way and remember that fab is just part of a beautiful world full of people who inspire places that take my breath away dreams that may or may not come true and hopes for a future none of us can ever see. I send you virtual hugs ... Wrap yourself in what makes you happy...dont stress about fab it's only a part of anyone's life.. And when you do come online it's whatever you want it to be.. I think every person here has probably been where you are today... Hiding from anything never works...im the expert at that... but it's simple really PNG.... Do what makes you happy...its all any of us can hope for x

I'm tempted. I'm reluctant to put that I feel like going UNLOS. It can come across as attention seeking when it's not. If it's a normal part of being on fab then I accept that. If it's not then maybe I need to question the validity of my membership. Bit of a dilemma eh? " Just don't log into fab for a while. If you delete your profile when you want to come back you will wish you hadn't deleted your profile.

The dilemma was as I asked. Does everyone go through this? Is this a normal part of being on fab. It's all there if you read the original post. I know I can leave or stay. I'm well aware of that. My point was to ask if this is just a normal part of being on this site, asking what others do in a similar situation. " I think it is normal part of being on fab. I know it is for me. That is why I sometimes take a break for a few months.

If you (anyone ... not you personally) is constantly questioning then perhaps it's not fun and a decision should be made, was my point. Day in, day out, you see status updates and threads about whether people have had a good day, bad day, not feeling it today, it's not working for them so there must be quite a lot of people that goes through feelings of being not quite at ease with Fab for whatever reason. I think my comment does respond to your point. If it isn't working, then change something. Again, not directed at you personally, merely responding in general to your post

Today is much better, one great message and I'm buoyant again and things don't seem as bad. I know fab is just a little part of our lives. The forums even more so, it was just a really lovely escape for me from a lot of personal crap going on right now. Today is a new day as they say.

"I've had so many profiles since joining 2 years ago, its not even funny. I get bored or fed up and delete it. Now I just set my photos to private and have a break when I'm feeling like that " And I'll do the same. What I should have done yesterday was hide, return when that feeling went. We live and learn. To be fair that's the first time I've ever felt that way so it's all a learning curve
