Postcode Lottery question

I keep seeing the adverts for this postcode lottery and people waving quite substantial cheques around their heads.

The latest one has 1 guy there with 3 such cheques for £150,000 each and various others in the background for other quite high amounts.

Now at £1 each ticket that amount seems very high for something that not everyone is going to do week in week out and personally where we live I don't know of anybody that actually does it, Taking out the admin fee's, advertising and staffing costs do these amounts seem a little OTT given that some of it goes to local charities aswell something just doesn't add up with the amount they give away.

Thoughts please ?

Brighton - even Hove!

You can see on a map those who have won. There are hundreds of thousands of people in it.

"You can see on a map those who have won. There are hundreds of thousands of people in it. "

I've just googled 2 pictures and couldn't make out all of the amounts so only counted up the ones I could see properly in the first pic £692182, the second one had again numerous amounts but didn't even bother with the rest as there were 3 cheques there for £333,333. Just doesn't seem to add up

Bexhill

There is a free postcode lottery and "the postcode lottery" do not confuse the 2 of them. Free one has small jackpots but has several a day. Paid for one has larger jackpots.

The Tantric Tea Shop

I remember when this first came out, I am certain it was originally a Dutch initiative. Re winning back then, you got your prize and a percentage went to your neighbours/local community.

I do it.

£10 a month. I have won £10 on a fairly regular basis, much more successful on it than the national lotto.
