Failed meet, lucky escape

Just occasionally people can't make a meet for legitimate reasons. We had a meet arranged for today, migraine struck my partner and I informed the other couple as soon as possible that this was the situation. No reply or concern to this, resulting in us having to call out an out of hours gp. We got blocked and sarcastic reply from the other couple. Thankfully my partner is just starting to recover after 36 difficult hours. The result of this is thank goodness we didn't meet this obnoxious unsympaphetic couple...

There are legitimate reasons sometimes.. We would have rearranged the meet but niwvjust feel we've had a lucky escape.. Has anyone else had the same annoying/frustrating experience

Yes, had a meet arranged and unexpectedly my period came early. Told the couple and it ended up just falling apart. Turns out he was more interested in me than she was comfortable with and it soon showed. So grateful we didn't meet x

Fully agree. Been there myself. Sometimes there are callous, illnesses or other things that are unavoidable.

Life comes first, meets can be rearranged.

Hillside desolate

I've only cancelled two meets, gave a day or two notice and said something came up. Both guys were totally cool about it and we rearranged for a week or two after. Ive been lucky in that regard. I've not had anyone cancel on me yet, a couple of no shows which is different altogether.

It's the first time out of 20 plus meets we've had to call it off. We didn't just not turn up...

In all seriousness though. How are you feeling now? They (migraines) can be fully debilitating.

Horrible stage but at least you can see the light at the end of the tunnel (and it not kill your eyes!).

Make sure you’re drinking plenty. Often forget to drink when you feel too ill to move x

Glad you're feeling better OP.

I can understand them being a bit disappointed that you cancelled the meet but there's no need to be arsy about it. I agree, it does sound like a lucky escape.

I've only had to cancel one meet so far. It was with a regular FB and he was feeling a bit under the weather and thinking about cancelling too.

Stuff happens. We all have to cancel meets at times. It's not like you didn't communicate with them clearly so I can't see why they'd be so rude.

If they can't wait for the right time then they aren't worth your time tbh.

Save your energy for someone worthy of your time.

I've had meets cancelled on me and I just say no probs, we'll rearrange. only one never has.

Win some,you lose some

Perhaps your situation was the straw that broke the camel's back of numerous let downs. They are probably cynical as opposed to noxious. Just move onwards.
