.... married mans tax allowances, I thee endow!!

You're in love, you're committed, you've lived together in harmony for years as a co-habiting couple without the confetti.

Would you therefore decide to get married in order to qualify for married couples tax relief if it were to be introduced?

Married couples allowance doesnt exist as yet though. I mean after all of the figures have been presented and they are a favourable alternative to your circumstances, financially.

I believe that ALL governments are totally against married couples, with tax allowances, pensions etc.

Perhaps encouraging people to marry is saving them money, that's why they all have been so keen on it

I agree. But the question still remains... if it were financially attractive would you enter into or stay in a marriage? Again I must stress non violent partnerships - that scenario doesnt need any consideration.

To be in a marriage for me there has to be some love there. So no I would not enter a loveless marriage for the sake of money. The emotional strain I beleive would be too great to offset any financial gain

I'm sorry to hammer home a point but the emphasis is on the 'an already harmonious realtionship' where there is no intention to get married... would you be swayed to stop co-habiting and tie the knot.
