Is it really so hard to insert your correct age in the first place!

I mean come on do you have some kind of memory breakdown when putting your age in?!

I seem to be hearing "well I'm really 45" when the profile says 27 (slight exaggeration on my behalf there) and I can't change it!

Well if you had bloody well remembered how old you were in the first place numb nut's you wouldn't need to change it!

One 5' 5" bloke I turned down told me he was actually 6 feet tall, he had just never measured himself correctly so guessed.

There and to the left a bit

Don't see the point in lying about anything to be honest - it will only be found out at some point.

If you've made a genuine mistake when setting your age (fat fingers etc) then you have one chance to change it - so why not do that? Unless of course the intention is to deliberately mislead in which case it raises questions about any other 'fibs' the individual may have told.

I'm hard pressed to believe that it's a genuine mistake. Most sane people double check forms and things before pressing submit right? To check the details are correct.

It won't be that long before I'm adding ten years to my age so I get astounded compliments about how young I look!

I like the ones that state they are in their 30's and then call themselves a young lad with pictures to prove they are 12 years younger.

You can actually change your age on here, but only once

So, if they are unable to change it, one must assume it is subterfuge as opposed to a genuine mistake.

I don't blame them. Totally understandable in a world you believe is totally superficial. I think we all make that mistake when we join Fab.

If your darkest desire is to sleep with handsome young fit men and you're scared you're too old to attract them. I can forgive that lie.

When you know better and carry on? Why not just start again? The people you've met and who like you will understand.

I believe that memory loss is often a side-effect of getting older. I often can't remember important things... I can't recall what, but there are definitely things.

I read that if you don't have kids, you get emotionally stunted in your mid-20s. Age is really a state of mind, so whether somebody has their real age or the age they look or the age they feel doesn't mean as much to me as those guys who claim to be 6' then they show up and they're 5'4". Seriously, dude, who did you think you'd fool?

OK, that wasn't me it happened to, it was a woman I know. He said he didn't think she'd meet him if she knew he didn't match her preferences. Because he thought she'd prefer liars to short guys, I suppose.

I'd disagree. But I became a father in my late 20s. I think emotional stunting depends more on the experiences and interactions you have. How deeply you choose to engage or withdraw.

Some of us have natural gifts in our personalities that allow us to do this more easily than others. My own type is known for needing to engage as much as I can. It can lead to lots of pain.. but then my type is also renowned for being emotionally resilient of the hardest trials and can bounce itself back after time.. quite easily.

Others cant do this so well and have to work hard to avoid spirals and pitfalls. We're all different and have different reasons for acting the ways we do. Different ways of coping with the stuff we find hard or need to work at.

Try not to judge to harshly if you don't know the person. They've got their reasons that make sense to them. It may not work very well, but I don't think most of it is malicious or bad intentioned.

5ft 5.. and he claimed he was 6ft? That's a big arse pair of platform shoes! Where can this little oompa loompa get a pair
