"We never take communication away from the site until we meet face to face. Any suggestion of money and we would report and block straight away. I read about an elderly couple who gave a guy the entire £13,000 contents of their bank account. He told them he was a police officer and all the money in their account was counterfeit. The bank contacted the police when they withdrew the money but the old couple thought the bank and police were the scammers and went ahead anyway. It sounds so daft to us that anyone would believe it but obviously they do." You have to be so careful,my bank rang me once after a couple of deposits for £10 for top-up's came out of my account which I'd missed on my statements. It took me a while to be convinced it was actually my bank ringing me. I have a contract with a phone company, not really sure how they knew, but they re-embursed me the money. Never found out how the thieving piece of rubbish managed to get my details either. | |||
