I have my doubts I'll be able to see anything through a thick layer of cloud

Yeah. Any time before the moon rises which i think is around 1am.

Luckily i'll be out working at midnight so praying for no cloud cover over Manchester (highly unlikely)

It's a shame, my lad would love this, and I'd love to watch it with him, but there's no way he will stay awake till it's dark, if I don't tuck him in by 8:30 he'll put his own pj's on and go himself, he's no night owl lol

.

Its where bits of rock bump into the earth's atmosphere and burn up to give some humans a cheap fire work display.

Happens every year same time... Bit like bonfire night

It's really impressive as something celestial you can see with the naked eye. I was lucky enough to be travelling in a helicopter on a clear night flight one time and witnessed it from there over several hours. Very cool if you are interested in that kind of thing..

It's not fair...... I started the thread..... I was the one who arranged the meteor shower and it sounds like I'm the only one who couldn't frigg'in see it because of the poxy cloud cover ....

So you lot just shut up about it ...... I don't want to know what you saw.... I don't care......
