Humpty Dumpty had a great fall

He didn't get bruised

He didn't get bumped

Cos Humpty Dumpty bungee jumped!!!

Blimey two humpty dumpty references in one day everythign is linking - are we going to disappear into a black hole?

Ok little short fella skinny legs big buckled belt, bald resembles an egg. I think he might have been some politician when the rhyme was made up.

According to all the pictures associated with the nursery rhyme, he was an egg. Though i'm unsure to where it originated

Right i have enough answers now to answer my hypothesis.

Everyone has described him as an egg or eggshaped. But why? Sing humpty dumpty to yourselves and tell me how you get the reference to an egg from the nursery rhyme, well the answer is you dont. You refer to him as egg shaped or an egg because of the pictures that have gone with the ryme but i bet none of you have ever questioned why he is portrayed as being an egg man.

Which proves at some point in our lives all of us take things as read even if there is no evidence to back it up

Lewis Carroll's Through the Looking Glass (1871). Sir John Tenniel's iconic illustration shows Alice in deep discussion with Humpty Dumpty as he sits upon a high wall. Tenniel, clearly taken with the idea of the impossibility of Humpty Dumpty's being put back together again once he'd fallen off the wall, has him shaped as an egg with short arms and legs. This is the first known depiction of Humpty as an egg, one that was to become the definitive image.

I get your drift, but as its portrayed for us in pictures then thats what the creator wanted and as this imagery is universally accepted, to create your own character based on the rhyme would then be a separate piece of new imagery which would not become popular because of the indoctrination. People can reinterpret but in order to make the new creation acceptable all images of the old creation must be destroyed.

Ok I wonder if we can get a 100,000 signature petition to have this debated in parliament

Theres nothing wrong with him being an eggman i like him just as he is. The reason i asked the question is, we have all known the ryhme since we where babies but i bet none of us have once thought about it.

Its same as father christmas really, the father christmas portrayed today was started by coca cola around the 1930's or when ever it was

I imagine Bill Gates has a small penis - he can't possibly have it all. Thank goodness for the lack of suggestive imagery there
