Advice on a last minute mini-break!

Hi my lovelies!

At this moment in time I'm supposed to be on the way to Marmaris for a week!

However - life being a bitch at times - it was cancelled at the last minute!

I now have a few days off with no kids - but not a huge amount of cash!

Rather than sulking at home I'd like to go away for a few days in this country! Somewhere very pretty with plenty to do and see!

Love London but the cost of accommodation is too great!

Probably looking at going Sunday to Wednesday/Thursday!

Any good suggestions? Hard to find good deals on laterooms etc when you don't have an areal in mind!

Peachy xx

What about somewhere on the near French coast like Le Touquet? Easy drive from Calais and you get the foreign holiday vibe without too much expense.

Sussex countryside

The Seaside

stay just along the coast from the big attractions, it will be cheaper but easy to travel or walk to the sights etc

Leeds

Come to Leeds and I'll show you the sights!

Lake District is nice, Manchester, Chester.

Depends what your looking for.

Barcelona is also really cheap if you fancy a city break.

Thanks for the tips - some lovely ideas!

Still tempted by London though if I can find accommodation that doesn't cost a fortune!

Either that or Stratford! Xx

TBH as I'm at home with the kids most evenings I get a little tired of looking at the same walls! Need a change of scene for a few days!

I'd love to - but sadly Dublin (inc the accom/air fares etc) is out of my price range at the moment. Shame as it's a lovely place!

OK

Try Edinburgh

Try Cardiff

Try Newcastle

Try Chester

Try a spa (and take a friend)

I love Yorkshire : Harrogate, Richmond, York, Whitby, even Scarborough

Seaside wise, Llandudno is great and not too far

Even Manchester, nice hotel, night in a club, drink and shop to your hearts content.

You will pay a premium with the kids being off school whereever you go.

Wherever you end up, have a great time x

Durham Tees

Check the weather forecast for the week. It might give you some ideas as to where you might be able to make the most of the days.

If you are coming to stay here it won't matter. We won't be going out much

Scunthorpe

You want somewhere pretty with things to do further south in the UK. ..

My suggestions would be:

Cotswolds

Devon

Cornwall

South Wales & Cardiff

If you decide to stay north, I'd say either North Yorkshire, Durham or Glasgow.

Thanks for the advice everyone!

I decided to go for a bit of 'affordable luxury ' and booked myself a lovely hotel in Stratford upon Avon!
