Fatty fiver fiasco

So it appears that some of the ingredients used in the manufacture of these awful new five pound notes are derived from animal fat. Certain members of the population are understandably up in arms and the Bank of England refuses to make any changes to the manufacturing process citing cost to the taxpayer. I find this whole situation amusing but then i'm not a vegan.

Sometimes i think it's best simply to live in ignorance.

"36 weeks ago according to the forum search function."

In my defence they were banging on about it so much on Radio 1 yesterday it sounded current.

It's better for us than eating it.

The way we burn through cash we might as well be eating it.

To be fair. I've never met a vegan who needed to get near anything as working class as a fiver..

Old news. It makes me laugh, if you gave a vegetarian a million pounds in them fivers im sure they would'nt refuse. Even on the condition they had to keep them !!

Captive audience i'm afraid. On a long drive to collect my daughter and her family i was merrily minding my own business listening to Planet Rock but her constant complaining and snide remarks forced me to turn it over. Protocol dictates the driver chooses the tunes? Not where she's concerned.

It's probably new news today because the bank of England are going to start rolling out the new £10 notes and have announced they are not changing the way the notes are made meaning they will also have tallow in them as well.
