For what we actually got for it I was a little pissed off to be honest.

Everything is just about 2 or 3 times the price it should be.

Two pancakes for €20!!

It's flour eggs and a bit of milk for fuck sake!

Yes to taking plenty of money

Yes to the pre-booking trips

Yes to Vondelpark

Yes to Jordaan

There is a little island beach bar you can get a boat too aswell if the weather is good.

If you don't have acco, try Hotel De Hallen in Oud West - about 10/15 mins by tram from Dam.

It's in a converted tram shed and there is a food hall next door which rocks til the early hours.

To me, Amsterdam gets better the further away from Dam Square you get.

I am still recovering from €2.85 for a McFlurry though

If you never had the opportunity, just try a coffeeshop, that's one thing that is pretty fun in Amsterdam.

I remember my first trip with my best friend, and we saw an aged couple (around 75/80yo) holding hands, going in the coffeeshop, each prdering their drinks, buying their drugs and consumming it there, it was so cute :3

Just to say that coffeeshop are a fun place, if you don't mind the smoking ambiance, etc ofc.

I quite enjoyed the zoo. Although I don't agree with them lol. Vondel Park is nice, I'd recommend renting a bike it's so easy to get around with it being so flat.

I never liked the Heineken experience, it was like a long tour to get a beer. And they ranted and raved about how great it is.

But there are some sights you can't miss. It is expensive and easy to get lost, so make sure you get a map.
